Putters

There are many areas in golf, driving ,iron shots, but the one that many people think is the key to golf is the short game and putting is a massive part of that. Today manufacturers seem to have the most leniency with putters, gone are the days of just having normal blade putters, on TV you will see pros use some of the  most bizarre shaped putters. The company Odyssey really lead the way with the release of the “Two Ball Putter” that is what we call a mallet putter, with a massive weigh on the back to make the putter heavier and more pendulum like. But now one can also purchase a  “techno” putter, I don’t know if that is the official term but that is what we call them on this website, which weight at the back but either side of where the putter face meets the golf ball, rather like tongs on the back of the club.

We set out to find out the best putter there is on the market and on this website you will have the oppotunity to find out plenty of information and purchase it for alot less than the retail price. We started by findind out what the magasines thought were the best putters in each of the three categories, and this is what we found.

Best…

Blade putter: Ping Redwood

Mallet Putter: Ping Redwood Piper

Techno Putter:Odyssey White Hot XG Sabretooth

We decided to test them to find out which of these champions was the champion of the champions. We marked each one out of forty marks, a possible ten marks were awarded for the following, how easy it was to get the line right with our normal routine, feel in our hands, balance of the club in the swing, and appearance.

As you can see the Odyssey Whith Hot XG Sabretooth won. It was a brilliant putter, it had come out just after TaylorMade released the Spider, which everybody said was the best putter out but this golf club knocked it out of the water. You will never miss a short putt with it, it just oozes confidence, which is so crucial for putting, I would go as far as saying that it is a must have golf club.
